The ketogenic diet is an extremely low carbohydrate, moderate protein and high fat diet (LCHF). Every person responds differently, so the amount of carbohydrates consumed can vary from 20g-50g (sometimes less, sometimes more), depending on each individual, in order to maintain a state of ketosis. Due to the diets restrictive nature, it is quite difficult for many people to follow, and therefore they lack the ability to enter into ketosis and produce ketones.
The goal of the Keto diet is to become Keto-Adapted.
